About the Role
Graphic Designer - Multimedia
July 4 - August 26
*start date negotiable, 8 week contract
$18/hour, 35 hours/week
The Canadian Student Leadership Association is searching for a graphic designer - multimedia, to support the development, branding, marketing and promotion of youth leadership programs across Canada including the Student Leadership Certification Program, Horizons Leadership Conferences and the Canadian Student Leadership Conference (virtual). This youth will also support the overall brand development of the organization. Tasks and responsibilities will include: Reviewing branding guideline kit and recommending improvements, developing print content including newsletters, flyers and other mail-outs, business cards, etc.; developing digital graphics including gifs, stickers, social media posts, video overlays, email banners, web banners, email signatures; supporting the design of program tools including manuals, certificates and activity kits; consult on rebranding opportunities, and other creative endeavours as they arise. This youth will also create resources for CSLA Youth program participants and member schools on graphic design basics and starter tools to enhance youth knowledge of the graphic design profession in Canada.
Additional tasks and responsibilities based on the youth's experience will include video editing and sound editing (podcasts). Some web development may also be included but will be provided as a learning opportunity as well for the youth.
This youth will work closely with the Publications and Communications Director and Executive Director to execute these tasks to a high standard and to best reflect the work of each program. This youth will lead all digital and brand development across various types of media for CSLA and will also have the opportunity to access training, softwares and resources as required to support their professional and career development. The youth will regularly consult member schools and youth participants for feedback and be knowledgeable of CSLA programs.

Have an eager interest in Student Leadership
Have graphic design experience
Ability to work independently
Ability to be creative through resource development
The Canadian Student Leadership Association is a federally registered charity in Canada. Founded in 1985 to originally support the continuation of our main event, the Canadian Student Leadership Conference (CSLC), CSLA has since grown, and now distributes leadership resources, materials, scholarships, and organizes programs and events for its member schools across the country.
