In the spirit of March Madness, challenge the mathletes of your school to a Math Madness Tournament.
Each homeroom is given a basketball-themed worksheet for the preliminary round. The class is allowed to work together to solve the problems.
This creates the bracket for the initial Sweet Sixteen. This process is repeated for the Elite Eight, Final Four and the Championship. The final four and the championship rounds can be individuals going to hand to hand computation.
Depending on the size of your school, you can break the contest into Jr. and Sr. champions. It is a great chance to celebrate the cerebral accomplishments of your school’s mathletes.
