Over 200,000 Canadians experience homelessness each year and socks are the #1 requested item in shelters, which is why WE BE US co-founders Nick Foley and Phil Kerr came up with 20K Sock Day. Nick, Phil, and other members of the 20K Sock Day team start sending out information about the event in November and the response from all across Canada has been overwhelming. From coast to coast, people have been organizing sock drives to collect as many socks as they could. Some places also worked with WE BE US on socks that they used as a fundraiser.
